The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will meet May 18-19 at the Holiday Inn Express at 210 N. 3rd St. in McCall. A public hearing will begin on May 18 at 7 p.m. MDT at the same location. People can address the commission on any topic pertaining to Fish and Game matters.
Controlled hunts for deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear and turkey are an excellent opportunity to try for a chance at some of Idaho’s best hunts. Memorial Day weekend marks unofficial opener to fishing season in Idaho, and to kick off the season, Idaho Fish and Game and State Parks have partnered with local Spanish-language radio stations to create a community event to introduce English and Spanish-speaking residents of southwest Idaho to fishing and recreational opportunities at the area’s state parks. On Saturday, May 7, off-duty Fish and Game Regional Fisheries Biologist Mike Thomas was fishing the Boulder Creek arm of Lake Cascade with local angler Chris Weber, when Weber landed an illegally stocked, 20-inch, nearly 3-pound mature male walleye.
Idaho Fish and Game has received information about two bull elk that were killed and left to waste near Kerr Lake in Boundary County in the Panhandle Region. Fish and Game is requesting the public to report any information about the incident.
